There are also lots of other organisations who can provide support and guidance. We recommend checking out the following:

Theatre Green Book – guidance on sustainable working created by the theatre sector. There are three volumes focusing on Production, Buildings, and Operations.
Arts Green Book – guidance on sustainable working created by the theatre sector, currently only focusing on buildings.
Business Energy Scotland – free support and access to SME loans for energy efficiency schemes. Note that there is a 30 working-day waiting time for a first response to any enquiry about their assessments.
Julie’s Bicycle – UK-based not-for-profit, mobilising the arts and culture to take action on the climate and ecological crisis.
Neuto – an organisation based in Scotland providing guidance on sustainable digital practice and measuring digital carbon footprints.
Reset Scenery – information about waste and circular economy for the stage, screen and events sectors in Scotland.

Book a one-to-one meeting

For many Green Champions we know that the prospect of recording and reporting your emissions can be quite daunting and it can make all the difference to get specialist advice and to talk over what you need to do in your organisation. You could be struggling to find your energy meter, be new to our online tools or keen to get other staff involved. Whatever the reason we are happy to meet with you at your office or venue.

Please email Matthew Belsey to arrange a meeting.

Develop your Environmental Policy - image

Develop your Environmental Policy

Writing down your environmental policy will help you carry out your green actions. Your policy doesn’t need to be long and complicated. It should be an active document which makes it easy for members of staff to make more environmentally sustainable choices in your organisation. Most importantly, it should be simple, practical and have backing and approval from your management team.

Send your draft policy to Matthew Belsey and we can give you feedback.

See our Guide to developing your environmental policy .
