Green Tease: Edinburgh Green Spaces Barge Tour

Join Creative Carbon Scotland and Edinburgh & Lothian Green Spaces Trust (ELGT) on a special canal barge tour for our September Green Tease where we’ll learn about Edinburgh’s urban green spaces and discuss their connection to the Green Tease network.

Departing from the Fountainbridge Union Canal, we’ll take a leisurely cruise with afternoon tea and discussion, arriving at WHALE Arts centre in Wester Hailes before catching a bus back into the city centre.

Joined by Abby Boultbee of ELGT, we’ll learn about the history of the trust and its role in creating and improving greenspaces in the city including woodlands, community gardens, parks, play areas, school grounds and cycle paths.

Alongside this we’ll consider how stronger connections could be built between Edinburgh’s arts and green spaces as well as the different roles of artists in green space initiatives.

As this is a rather unique outing for the Green Tease events we’d ask that you make a small contribution of £3 on the day towards barge hire costs.

Green Tease is a monthly programme of events run in Edinburgh and Glasgow which connect artistic practices and environmental sustainability. To find out more visit: www.creativecarbonscotland.com/project/green-tease/

We hope you can join us for a watery afternoon!
