The UK’s leading global change film festival returns for its first ever hybrid edition, taking place in Edinburgh, Glasgow and online UK wide from 22nd-26th September.
TOAFF’s 2021 edition offers a treasure trove of international film for cinephiles and activists alike. From intimate observational portraits (On the Line, Zinder), from double Sundance-Award-winning investigation (Writing with Fire) to found footage (Of Land and Bread), our small but perfectly formed programme spans a wide array of documentary genres.
As Scotland gears up to host COP26, our programme shines a light on stories at the heart of climate justice. From Malawi (The Ants and the Grasshopper) to Brazil (The Last Forest), via Scotland (Living Proof), and Canada (Call Me Human), the films dive into complex issues of accountability, privilege and legacy, and celebrate climate activists and movements, from the grassroots to the international, taking down corporate greenwashing on along the way (The New Corporation).
All films are available on a pay-what-you-can basis across all our cinema venues in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness – as well as online UK wide.
