What are the IG Tools?
The main function of the IG Tools serve is to help you calculate the associated carbon emissions of different activities within your organisation. The tool uses data you’ve gathered (e.g. on building electricity usage or business travel) and calculates the equivalent carbon footprint. Creative Carbon Scotland works in partnership with Julie’s Bicycle and has licensed a customised version of their IG Tools for free use by Scottish arts organisations.
Who are the IG Tools for?
The IG Tools can be used by any individual or organisation to plan future activities/projects or to enter real data you have gathered in order to calculate your annual carbon footprint. They use aggregated data that you have gathered over the course of the year on sMeasure (building energy and water usage) and spreadsheets (waste and travel).
Using the IG Tools
Don’t be afraid to click through to the IG Tools and play around with made up or imperfect data. Doing this will begin to give you a feel for the impact of particular decisions on your carbon footprint, for example the difference between choosing to travel by train or by plane. When entering real data be aware that your data will remain visible only to you until you click the ‘Submit for Review’ button in the top right hand corner of the page, which will then notify Creative Carbon Scotland to review your results. Click on the ‘Go to Julie’s Bicycle’ tab to access the IG Tools Click on the submit results for review button once you are confident with your data and would like CCS to review the data you have gathered.
