Paid Summer Internship with Creative Carbon Scotland

We're hiring an Edinburgh Napier University final year student, postgrad or recent grad to be our summer festivals Events Production and Membership Assistant!

Creative Carbon Scotland works with artists, organisations and strategic partners to put culture at the heart of a socially, economically and environmentally sustainable Scotland. Through events, projects and opportunities, we connect the arts with sustainability and sustainability with the arts.

With partner organisations Festivals Edinburgh (FE) and the Center for Sustainable Practice in the Arts (CSPA), Creative Carbon Scotland is looking to recruit a fourth year undergraduate, recent graduate or Masters candidate for a three-month contract to work on their major summer projects, including the Edinburgh Fringe Sustainable Practice Award.

Job Role: We are looking for an Events Production and Membership Assistant to develop and implement an industry-focused programme of work and events, to improve the environmental sustainability of the arts and cultural festivals.

Main areas of responsibility:

  • Supporting the development of the Green Arts Initiative including: growing awareness and membership amongst summer Festival venues and participants; contributing to the planning of the annual Green Arts Initiative conference; developing an event programme for GAI members (FE and CCS);
  • Contributing to delivering the Edinburgh Fringe Sustainable Production Award, presented in collaboration with the Center for Sustainable Practice in the Arts, including: ensuring the event runs smoothly and raising the attendance at, quality and profile of the event; producing an evaluative report; working collaboratively with the CSPA intern to review and score show entrants; (CSPA)
  • Contributing to the delivery of other Creative Carbon Scotland and Edinburgh Festivals sustainability events including: promotion, managing attendance, documentation and evaluation; (FE & CCS)
  • Supporting the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society in the running of the Fringe Swap Shop through logistical support, internal and external promotion, data gathering and analysis (FE)
