The Arts and Sustainability: An International Overview

This report, compiled and published by Julie's Bicycle and the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA) in late 2014, aimed to broaden the understanding and identify the environmental sustainability aspirations of the international arts community, as well as aid in the identification for further work and partnerships.

The report details:

  • The policy context for arts, culture and environmental sustainability
  • The international socio-political and legislative context for arts sector sustainability efforts
  • The differential approach between developed and developing countries towards environmental sustainability
  • The current aims, actions and influences on worldwide arts councils with regards to sustainability – ranging across all 5 continents.
